Hippothoa hyalina (northern staghorn bryozoan?)

The photograph listed as Heteropora pacifica in Gotshall (1994) looks very similar to the erect form of this bryozoan, Hippothoa hyalina, which was keyed out by a KFE student in 1996. The bryozoan can form erect "clumps" (above left) or single layers that are commonly found on red algae (above right).
